Holdan is announcing a nationwide higher education tour throughout June 2013. The roadshow will give students, lecturers and AV technicians hands on experience with the latest HD and 4K production equipment from Panasonic Broadcast, Blackmagic Design and Datavideo. Demonstrations will also focus on Teradek streaming and wireless signal systems, Metus ingest systems, as well as low-cost LED lighting technology.

Snell today announced that Portugal's most-watched broadcaster, TVI, has deployed the Snell ICE channel-in-a-box solution to support two new channels: TVI Fiction and +TVI. By installing ICE systems, TVI is quickly and cost-effectively bringing new channels to air. While the ICE systems enable fast expansion without significant changes to existing infrastructure, they also integrate seamlessly with TVI's installed Snell Morpheus automation system enabling it to scale from a single channel to many complex channels, controlled from just one user interface.

Hybrid, a leading provider of real-time graphics and robotic camera systems, has entered into a dealer agreement with TSD Videoa leading systems integrator/reseller with offices in Montreal, Toronto, and Nova Scotiato market Hybrid virtual studios and robotic camera products throughout Canada. The IEEE Broadcast Technology Society (BTS) has announced that leading global entertainment content company Viacom will host an upcoming session of the Society's "Bridging the Gap" technical training program. Studio and design consultancy White Mark Ltd has completed a major project for Extreme Music to design and install an entire audio complex at the companys new headquarters in London.  The complex includes a large mastering studio, a mixing studio that can also be used for tracklaying and three self-contained audio editing suites.

Riedel Communications, provider of pioneering real-time video, audio, data, and communications networks, has been awarded a prestigious Sports Emmy(R) Award in the category of "Outstanding New Approaches Sports Event Coverage" for the production of the Red Bull Stratos project. As a contributor to the project, Riedel received the famous award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Science at the 34th Annual Sports Emmy Awards, held May 7 in New York City.

FOR-A Corporation of America plans to showcase its FT-ONE full 4K super slow motion camera at the upcoming Cine Gear Expo, taking place May 31-June 1 at The Studios at Paramount in Hollywood.   FOR-A will be in Booth #S323, where they will also display the FT-1READ -a RAW data to DPX converter available with the FT-ONE camera.

First introduced at last years Cine Gear Expo, the award-winning FT-ONE is ideal for digital cinematography applications. The camera is the first of its kind to complete the 4K workflow by introducing the ability to simultaneously record and play back super slow motion images at full 4K resolution. The FT-ONEs high-sensitivity CMOS color sensor, FT1-CMOS, enables high-speed recording at up to 900 frames per second (fps). The camera captures images as uncompressed raw data on the systems internal memory, which has a recording capacity of 9.4 seconds. This data is then stored on one of two hot-swappable SSD cartridges, each of which is capable of storing 84 seconds of full 4K resolution images.

For the 3rd consecutive year, XL Video sponsored the Award for Best Set Design (won by Bunny Christie and Finn Ross for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time) as well as supplying video equipment for the awards ceremony.

At Londons Royal Opera House, XL supplied the centre-stage LED screen, built from Pixled FX-11, 12 tiles wide by 7 tiles high, which linked up with the ITV broadcast feed and displayed live camera relay, VT clips and nomination packages.

The main screen was matched on either side by two dynamic portrait orientated screens measuring 5 x 6 tiles and 5 x 8 tiles respectively, which showed nominee logos, special guest awards and Olivier logos.
